Marc Jacobs is heralded as one of the most influential designers of the modern era.  Born in New York in 1963, he went on to study womenswear at the prestigious Parsons school of design where he was the youngest ever designer to receive the Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.  Graduating in 1984, he founded Marc Jacobs the brand shortly afterwards, but it was another ten years before he debuted his first eponymous collection.  His grunge collection released in 1993 whilst he was working for Perry Ellis, is said to have been the catalyst that started the grunge look of the 90s.  His employment with Perry Ellis was swiftly terminated as the grunge aesthetic was too much of a departure from the clean look exemplified by the brand.  It didn’t matter; Marc Jacobs was now officially on the map.  Opening his own line of boutiques in 1997, this was also the year when Marc Jacobs became creative director of Louis Vuitton; he completely transformed the house and made it more appealing to a younger, modern market during his time there, introducing more accessories and for the first time, ready-to-wear collections.  For his own label, Marc Jacobs launched Marc by Marc Jacobs, a sportswear diffusion line in 2001 and Little Marc Jacobs, branching into children’s wear for the first time in 2005.  He left Louis Vuitton in 2013 to concentrate fully on his eponymous label and although Marc by Marc Jacobs was eventually pulled from production, Little Marc Jacobs (now also known as Marc Jacobs) is still going strong today.  Marc Jacobs kidswear is cleverly designed to include many of the graphics, motifs and style codes from the adult collections in perfect mini-me form.  Girls will love a Marc Jacobs kids dress that looks like it’s been lifted straight from the catwalk.  The iconic Snapshot crossbody bag features on Marc Jacobs kids dresses too, an instantly recognisable style nod to the women’s collections.  Not forgetting Marc Jacobs boys who get fun cartoon characters, cool logos and comfortable sportswear styles perfect for everyday fun and adventure.  Marc Jacobs children’s clothes are available for ages baby to young teen.
